WinMobile Torrent Review
|
Bit torrents are large files broken into smaller chunks, downloaded from lots of different peers then re-assembled. This allows for a steadier download - putting less strain on the computer the original file is being downloaded from. Make sure, however, you use a legal torrent site. There are loads out there, so no excuse – check out www.legaltorrents.com for starters.
OK, so I have downloaded and opened wmTorrent and it looks amazing, even slicker than most desktop PC torrent software. A lot of menus and loads of options. Before you can do anything, make sure your PPC is connected to the Internet, either by plugging it in to your PC via USB using a USB Modem application like this one – USB Modem or using a Wifi card. Next, open your legal torrent and the WinMobile Torrent takes it from there. Wait until the download finishes and you have a brand new shiny folder. Just like that!!
Another nice feature is the incredible help menu - it is clear, concise and very well organised into headings. So even novices can become Torrent professionals.
Verdict:

A must for any Pocket PC. Make sure, however, you have an Internet connection. Can be tricky at times but an incredibly well put together help menu is always available.
